How you’ll spend your day 

  • Managing and optimising cloud-based infrastructure, primarily on Digital Ocean. 
  • Supporting and enhancing web applications built with Laravel. 
  • Administering Linux servers and web servers, ensuring security and reliability. 
  • Implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform. 
  • Improving and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Pipelines, BitBucket, or Git. 
  • Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and preventing future incidents. 
  • Collaborating with developers to optimise deployments and address infrastructure challenges. 
  • Enhancing security practices and ensuring compliance with industry standards (ISO, disaster recovery planning). 
  • Contributing to documentation and proactive improvements in infrastructure. 

What you’ll bring to this role 

  • Strong experience with Linux server administration and web server management. 
  • Knowledge of security principles and best practices, with a focus on proactive risk mitigation. 
  • Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and containerisation (preferred but not essential). 
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and DevOps methodologies. 
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation. 
  • Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to identify and prevent recurring issues. 
  • Experience with compliance frameworks and disaster recovery planning. 
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently with a high level of ownership. 
  • Enthusiasm for self-development, with opportunities for DevOps certification within the role.
