About the Client
Our client is a leading international contract research organisation (CRO) specialising in integrated drug discovery services. With state-of-the-art facilities in the UK and North America, they support a wide range of biotech and pharmaceutical companies by providing high-quality scientific expertise across medicinal chemistry, bioscience, DMPK, and related disciplines. Known for their strong collaborative culture, scientific excellence, and continued growth, they play a key role in advancing novel therapeutics from early-stage concepts through to preclinical development.
How you’ll spend your day
This is a varied and collaborative role that supports the entire contract lifecycle within a growing, science-driven business. You’ll play a vital role in shaping commercial agreements that support global research partnerships.
- Negotiate, draft, and finalise a range of commercial contracts with domestic and international customers
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Identify contract risks and propose solutions that align with company objectives and policies
- Provide expert guidance to colleagues on the scope and content of customer contracts
- Improve and administer internal contract processes and templates
- Support post-contract activities, including performance tracking and compliance
- Deliver contract and commercial awareness training across the business as needed
- Work closely with legal, business development, and operational teams to ensure smooth contract execution
What you’ll bring to this role
You’ll be a commercially minded contracts professional with strong attention to detail and a collaborative approach. Experience in a regulated or scientific environment will be highly beneficial (but not essential)
- Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements
- Strong understanding of intellectual property, SLAs, SOPs, and regulatory considerations
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- High level of organisation and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Commercial acumen and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Background in a relevant sector such as pharma, biotech, or life sciences (desirable, not essential)
- A degree in Law, Business, Life Sciences, or a related field (preferred but not essential)

The interview process for this client consists of:
- Stage 1 – 30mins via MS Teams – Discussion with the Head of Contracts to learn more about your experience as well and learning more about the role, expectations, and growth within the role
- Stage 2 – 90mins Onsite Interview – Discussion with Head of Contracts and another Key Stakeholder, Technical Exercise and Q+A.
