How you spend your day

  • Leading a growing full-stack team delivering a greenfield project.
  • Overseeing day-to-day team management while working closely with a new engineering manager.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across multiple teams and functions.
  • Supporting technical integration efforts to ensure smooth system architecture alignment.
  • Guiding delivery of core platform components, with a focus on speed, scalability, and user empowerment.
  • Playing a vital role in scaling the team from three to seven developers, ensuring smooth onboarding while maintaining existing team dynamics and performance.

What you’ll bring to this role

  • A strong technical foundation and ability to engage confidently in system architecture discussions – you won’t be hands-on, but technical fluency is essential.
  • A background in front-end engineering is highly desirable, complementing the team’s current back-end strengths.
  • Experience managing or leading engineering teams, ideally in a scaling environment, and delivering projects in complex, stakeholder-driven contexts.
  • Confidence working across teams and functions to prioritise, align, and deliver – especially in cross-site environments (UK and Gibraltar).
  • The ability to support a long-term project roadmap with evolving requirements, while balancing immediate delivery goals.
  • A pragmatic mindset, strong communication skills, and a collaborative approach to team building and leadership.
