Our client, a forward-thinking organization committed to excellence, is seeking a passionate and skilled IT Technician to join their dynamic Support Services IT Department. If technology is your passion and you thrive in solving complex IT challenges, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Location: Based in Newport NP20 1TE with occasional travel to Cardiff Office locations.

Role Purpose: Under the guidance of the IT Manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing their IT infrastructure, ensuring the seamless operation of networks, servers, telephony, printers, and more. You will be instrumental in supporting their employees and clients by delivering first-class IT services and contributing to their data protection, information security, and business continuity strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to hardware and software issues, ensuring swift resolutions within Service Level Agreement timeframes.
  • Escalate complex incidents to ensure timely and effective problem solving.
  • Maintain clear and regular communication with users and their managers regarding ongoing service issues.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance on IT hardware and software to all business lines.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of helpdesk issues to identify trends and inform training or process improvements.
  • Ensure all IT equipment and commercial software (COTS) are optimal for user needs, involving procurement and project management as necessary.
  • Support the maintenance of corporate applications, servers, Wi-Fi, and infrastructure security.
  • Guarantee the reliability and efficiency of the firm’s remote access facilities.

Experience/Qualifications Required:

  • Proficiency in Active Directory, Windows Server 2012/2019, Azure Cloud Portal, and Office 365.
  • Solid understanding of network fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, Firewalls, MPLS, Wi-Fi) and mobile technologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based applications and computer hardware.
  • Enthusiastic, keen to learn, with a personable attitude and attention to detail.
  • Relevant degree in Computing or Microsoft Certifications are advantageous.
