About the Client 

Join a well-established software company that has been a leader in developing cutting-edge solutions for the coach, bus, and transport industry for over 40 years. Specialising in fleet management, vehicle maintenance, and operational planning, this company provides industry-leading software used by operators worldwide. As they continue to innovate and enhance their products, they are looking for a talented professional to join their team and contribute to the development of robust, high-performance applications that drive efficiency in the transport sector. 

How you’ll spend your day 

  • Working on a core booking and management system for the coach and transport industry, handling everything from quotes and invoicing to vehicle and driver scheduling. 
  • Contributing to the development of tour booking and commercial vehicle solutions, supporting safety inspections, maintenance, and real-time driver interactions. 
  • Playing a key role in the migration of legacy systems to modern cloud-based architecture, ensuring a smooth transition from VB6 to .NET 7 with a React front end. 
  • Developing and maintaining APIs that interact with a SQL Server database, enabling seamless integration across systems. 
  • Working within a small but highly skilled development team, gaining full-stack exposure and ownership of the product lifecycle. 
  • Collaborating with senior developers to design and implement new features while ensuring performance and scalability. 
  • Exploring opportunities to integrate green and sustainable solutions into the evolving software landscape.

What you’ll bring to this role

  • Strong experience in .NET development, ideally using .NET 7 and C#. 
  • Front-end development skills, particularly with React (or a willingness to upskill). 
  • Familiarity with SQL Server and database-driven application development. 
  • Experience in API development and integration. 
  • An understanding of legacy system migration and cloud-based software architecture. 
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work across the full development lifecycle. 
  • A proactive approach, with a desire to contribute ideas and drive improvements. 
  • Interest in emerging technologies, including sustainability and net-zero initiatives in the transport sector.

The interview process for this client consists of: 

  • Stage 1 – 60minute MS Teams Interview 
  • Stage 2 – Technical Exercise 
  • Stage 3 – Either Face to Face Onsite or Remote MS Teams Interview to discuss the Technical Exercise.
