About the Client

Our client is a long-established, service-focused business delivering intelligent, data-driven solutions that help organisations increase efficiency, reduce operational risk, and streamline complex logistical processes. With a strong reputation for reliability and innovation, they serve a diverse portfolio of national and regional clients, many of whom rely on their services as a critical part of day-to-day operations.

They pride themselves on combining technology with exceptional service delivery, offering bespoke solutions tailored to the evolving needs of their customers. The organisation continues to invest in digital transformation and strategic partnerships to remain at the forefront of operational excellence. Known for a collaborative and pragmatic culture, they value long-term relationships and continuous improvement.

How you’ll spend your day

  • Collaborate with the Technical Lead and wider team to enhance and modernise backend systems and microservice architecture.
  • Work hands-on with .NET and Azure to develop scalable backend solutions and support new integrations.
  • Contribute to the build of new product and pricing microservices as part of a digital transformation initiative.
  • Review existing architecture documentation, providing critical analysis and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Support the breakdown of a monolithic platform into modern, service-oriented solutions.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams including data, testing, and business analysis to ensure fit-for-purpose technical delivery.

What you’ll bring to this role

  • Strong experience in backend development using .NET and Azure, with solid knowledge of microservice architecture.
  • Comfortable assessing existing systems and proposing architectural improvements, not just maintaining legacy code.
  • Exposure to Angular and DevOps practices such as containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes); familiarity with infrastructure as code tools like BICEP is a bonus.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to engage confidently across business and technical teams.
  • A mature and pragmatic approach to engineering decisions, open to ideas but confident enough to challenge when necessary.
  • Willingness to work in a hybrid model, with at least two days per week on site (Tuesdays and Wednesdays).

Perks & Benefits:

  • 2 x basic annual salary – Death in service
  • 8% pension (5% employee)
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
