Location: Leeds (hybrid – 3 days onsite per week – Monday, Friday and any other day)
Salary: £70,000-£80,000

This role requires on-site presence in Leeds city centre for at least three days per week.
If you’re new to Data Architecture or looking to make that move, full training is provided in role to help you on your journey within Data Architecture. You’ll be supported by an experienced team.

Our client is on a mission to transform how they use data across every corner of our business from Product and Customer to Supply Chain, Finance, and beyond. As a Data Architect, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping their data strategy, ensuring their architecture is robust, future-ready, and aligned with their strategic goals.
How you’ll spend your day
- Architect and evolve enterprise-wide data models across key domains like Product, Customer, Supply, Finance, and Location
- Apply Kimball dimensional modelling for consumption layer design and Data Vault methodology for raw and business layer integration
- Define and maintain data architecture principles, patterns, and standards
- Collaborate with data platform teams on governance, quality, lineage, and optimisation
- Consult with squads on physical data modelling
- Contribute to metadata and data catalog initiatives to improve discoverability and reuse
- Support the shift to a Data Product Ownership model, enabling domain-aligned teams
What you’ll bring to this role
- Either commercial Data Architecture experience or a desire to move in to Data Architecture.
- Knowledge in Kimball and Data Vault 2.0 methodologies
- Understanding or knowledge of data modelling, metadata, and governance knowledge
- Ability to define and drive architecture principles, patterns, and best practices
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Beneficial experience but not essential.
- Hands-on experience with modern data platforms (Databricks, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Azure)
- Retail industry experience is a bonus but not a deal breaker

The interview process for this client consists of:
- Stage 1 – 1 hour interview via MS Teams with the hiring managers exploring your skills and experience in more detail, followed by specific data architect topics.
- Stage 2 – 1 hour interview via MS Teams with an Engineering Lead and Senior Manager assessing fit within the team.
