Salary: £44,000-£56,000

About the Client
Our client is a growing UK-based technology consultancy that partners with both public and private sector organisations to deliver impactful digital solutions. Known for their people-first approach, they focus on building inclusive, collaborative teams that solve complex challenges through modern engineering practices. With a strong presence across the UK and a reputation for delivering high-quality results at scale, they’re committed to creating better outcomes for citizens, customers, and communities.

How you’ll spend your day
You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality software testing across both public and private sector projects. Sometimes acting as the sole Software Quality Engineer, other times as part of a wider team, you’ll work in agile environments to cover all testing types.

You’ll:

  • Write, run and debug automation tests for front-end and API (Cucumber BDD, Junit, etc.)
  • Manage defects and tasks through to resolution, producing clear test plans and reports
  • Collaborate with developers, stakeholders and users to maintain quality and best practice
  • Contribute to user stories and technical tasks, while ensuring compliance with company and client standards
  • Advise on tools, mentor junior colleagues, and adapt to new technologies as needed

This role is offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with UK Security Clearance (SC) or eligibility required.

What you’ll bring to this role
To succeed, you’ll have proven experience as a test engineer – ideally as the sole QA on a project – with the ability to balance technical detail with consultancy skills.

You’ll bring:

  • Strong experience in automation testing, debugging, and IDE frameworks (e.g. Cucumber BDD, Junit)
  • Familiarity with version control (Git), peer reviews, and CI tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI)
  • A solid understanding of non-functional testing, end-to-end testing and UAT
  • Strong attention to detail, organisation, and problem-solving skills
  • The confidence to challenge, raise risks, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Eligibility for SC Clearance

Desirable: experience with UK government service standards and agile delivery.

Perks & Benefits:

  • A competitive pension, health cash plan, share options and discretionary bonus.
  • Flexible hours and 25 days’ holiday.
  • People to support you every step of the way.
