Our client are a leading UK provider of smart, sustainable heat-network solutions, specialising in end-to-end services for local authorities, housing associations, and private developers. With decades of experience, their expertise ranges from design and build through to operation, metering, billing, and optimisation. How you’ll spend your day
As a Product Owner, you’ll sit at the heart of product delivery, working closely with engineering teams, business stakeholders, customers, and external partners. You’ll translate complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements and ensure products are delivered in line with user needs, technical constraints, and commercial goals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Writing clear user stories and acceptance criteria to guide engineering teams
- Working day-to-day with engineers, answering questions and making decisions to keep delivery moving
- Engaging with customers, users, and stakeholders to gather requirements and validate solutions
- Acting as the primary product liaison between business teams, engineering, and third-party vendors
- Communicating product vision, priorities, and roadmaps aligned to business strategy
- Leading the development of business cases for new products and services, including defining benefits and ROI
- Owning and prioritising the product backlog, making informed trade-off decisions
- Supporting continuous improvement through performance monitoring, customer feedback, and iteration
- Helping teams manage transitions from legacy systems to future-state solutions
- Facilitating and participating in Agile ceremonies, applying effective prioritisation techniques
What you’ll bring to this role
You’ll be a confident, hands-on Product Owner who thrives in collaborative environments and is comfortable balancing customer needs, technical delivery, and commercial outcomes. You’ll bring structure, clarity, and momentum to complex product challenges.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Proven stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong commercial awareness, including development costing, budgeting, and ROI tracking
- Excellent communication skills, able to translate complexity into clear narratives and specifications
- A deep understanding of customer service practices and user-centred product design
- End-to-end software delivery experience, from discovery through launch and iteration
- A highly organised, detail-oriented approach to product delivery
- A data-driven mindset, with the ability to define metrics and use insight to guide decisions
- Confidence managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously

- Stage 1 – Remote 30-45 minute interview focused on your background and learning more about the role.
- Stage 2 – Onsite 1 hour Case Study presentation
- Stage 3 – Remote or Onsite 1 hour interview with the hiring managers discussing company culture, ways of working etc.
