About the Client

Our client is an AI-led technology company redefining how organisations generate consumer insight. Using advanced GenAI and Large Language Models, they are transforming qualitative research through automated moderation, real-time insight generation, and intelligent conversational systems.

Operating on a modern cloud stack across AWS and Azure, they are scaling rapidly and investing heavily in production-grade AI capabilities. This is an opportunity to join a product-focused AI team building real-world, high-impact GenAI solutions.

How you’ll spend your day

You’ll work hands-on designing, building and deploying LLM-powered features that sit at the core of the client’s platform. This role blends experimentation, engineering and production delivery, with a strong focus on quality, reliability and real-world performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing prompts, system messages and reasoning flows for multi-turn conversational AI
  • Building and iterating on LLM-driven features such as AI moderators, insight generation and conversational agents
  • Developing and optimising retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines using embeddings and vector search
  • Fine-tuning models using techniques such as LoRA / QLoRA and supervised fine-tuning where appropriate
  • Running structured experiments to evaluate accuracy, tone, safety and consistency
  • Creating automated evaluation frameworks and test suites for GenAI features
  • Collaborating with engineering, product and research teams to ship AI features into production
  • Monitoring model behaviour in production and continuously improving performance and reliability

What you’ll bring to this role

You’ll be an AI Engineer with strong practical experience working with LLMs and GenAI systems, comfortable balancing experimentation with production delivery. You’ll be curious, methodical and confident working across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • 3+ years’ experience (7+ years for Senior candidates) in AI/ML engineering, applied NLP or LLM-focused roles
  • Hands-on experience fine-tuning LLMs using HuggingFace, LoRA/QLoRA or similar approaches
  • Strong Python skills and experience with modern ML tooling
  • Practical experience building RAG systems, embeddings and retrieval workflows
  • Experience designing experiments and evaluating model behaviour in real-world scenarios
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to explain AI behaviour and trade-offs

Desirable (but not essential) experience includes:

  • Multi-agent or tool-using agent systems
  • MLOps tooling (e.g. SageMaker, MLflow, Databricks, Azure ML)
  • Vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate or OpenSearch
  • Model alignment, safety or interpretability work
  • Startup or fast-paced product environments

Perks & Benefits:

  • Annual bonus up to two months’ salary based on company performance
  • Private medical insurance via Vitality
  • Nest pension contributions
  • Employee referral bonuses
  • Regular virtual and in-person team events
  • Recognition awards for outstanding contributions
