About the Client

Our client is a fast-growing and innovative technology business specialising in the development of high-assurance security solutions. How you’ll spend your day

  • Lead the design and development of FPGA modules for critical, high-reliability systems, reporting to the Head of FPGA Development.
  • Capture requirements, architect solutions, and oversee the full FPGA development lifecycle using the latest technologies.
  • Define and coordinate interfaces for internal and external components, and develop test benches to validate functionality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring delivery of robust and secure systems.
  • Stay up to date with advancements in FPGA design tools and methodologies, with opportunities for continued development.
  • Work both independently and as part of a collaborative team, with some travel to UK sites as required.

What you’ll bring to this role

  • At least 8 years’ experience in FPGA design, with strong skills in VHDL and a deep understanding of current FPGA and SoC technologies.
  • Expertise in ModelSim/QuestaSim and TCL scripting, with familiarity across tool chains such as Quartus (and ideally Vivado or Libero).
  • A degree in a relevant STEM subject and a strong ability to produce high-quality technical design documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to ownership, quality, and issue resolution.
  • Desirable: experience with Verilog/System Verilog, UVM/OSVVM/ABV, cryptographic algorithms, or high-speed/low-power FPGA technologies.
  • Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be British Citizens and eligible to obtain DV (Developed Vetting) security clearance.
