How you’ll spend your day

The Senior Risk Specialist will lead the implementation and oversight of the Group Risk Management framework in Luxembourg, ensuring compliance with local regulations (e.g., CSSF, AIFMD etc) and Group policies. This role focuses on identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks, with a strong emphasis on operational, regulatory, and financial risks. Knowledge of digital assets is a plus.

  • Lead Risk Framework Implementation – Ensure full compliance with the Group Risk Management framework across the jurisdiction, aligning with Group policies and local regulations
  • Drive Operational Risk Management- Identify, assess, mitigate, and report operational risks of the jurisdiction to protect the organization’s stability and reputation
  • Assess Risks and Oversee Control Effectiveness – Conduct regular evaluations of existing controls, updating Business Risk assessments/Risk registers to reflect current and emerging threats
  • Support Strategic Decision-Making – Provide analysis and recommendations to the Business Review Committee (BRC) and New Product opportunities
  • Deliver Comprehensive Risk Reporting – Analyze and report financial and non-financial risks using the Group Risk Framework, ensuring timely and accurate risk insights
  • Enhance Risk Monitoring- Develop and track risk metrics, improving monitoring practices to enable proactive risk management
  • Ensure Business Continuity – Lead Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Business Impact Analysis (BIA), ensuring operational resilience against disruptions
  • Oversight Outsourced Activities – Oversee third-party risks, ensuring outsourced activities comply with organizational and regulatory standards
  • Strengthen Risk Culture – Assess risk awareness and deliver targeted training to build a robust risk-aware culture across the organization

What you’ll bring to this role

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s in Risk Management, Finance, or related field
  • 8+ years in risk management or financial services, with ERM or fund services expertise preferred
  • Strong knowledge of risk frameworks, product risk assessment, and digital assets is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct detailed risk analysis and recommend effective risk mitigation strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various levels of the organization
  • Ability to lead from a position of strong emphasis on controls and the ability to set the tone in a high control culture orientated environment
  • Knowledge and experience of applicable local laws, regulations and business practice is desirable but not essential
  • A relevant industry-recognized qualification or membership is preferable (e.g., FRM, CFA).

  • Stage 1 – 1 hour Onsite Interview with the hiring manager – understand experience and motivations in more depth, along with further insight in to the company and role.
  • Stage 2 – 1 hour Onsite OR Remote Interview with the hiring manager – Technical Case Study
  • Stage 3 – 30 minute Remote Interview with key stakeholders within the business
  • Stage 4 – 30 minute Remote Interview with Risk Management Leaders
